Testing & Verification
Same-Lot Conformity
Overview
Same-lot conformity is about traceability: whether the documentation and testing consistently correspond to one specific lot. It is a documentation-integrity concept, not a single instrumental measurement.
What same-lot conformity means
A material’s records — the certificate, the test results, the identifiers — should all correspond to the same specific production lot. Same-lot conformity is the principle that these pieces line up: the results describe the lot in hand, and the identifiers match across the documentation.
Why it matters for verification
Analytical results are only meaningful for the lot they were actually generated from. Confirming that the lot number on the material matches the lot on its documentation — and that a verification record resolves to that same lot — is what lets results be trusted as describing what you hold. This connects directly to reading a COA and to verifying a batch record.
What it does and does not establish
Same-lot conformity supports traceability — that documentation and testing refer to one consistent lot. It does not itself measure identity, purity, quantity, or contamination; it is the consistency check that lets those results be attributed to the correct lot. Authoritative lot status and records live in Osmora’s Quality system and verification records, not in Academy prose.
What this test can and cannot establish
What it can establish
- An understanding of traceability across a lot’s documentation
- Why results must be tied to the correct lot to be meaningful
What it cannot establish
- Identity, purity, quantity, or contamination (those are separate tests)
- The status or records of any specific lot (these live in the Quality/verification system)
- Any suitability, safety, or appropriateness for any use
Key terminology
- Same-lot conformity
- Whether a lot’s documentation and testing consistently correspond to one specific lot.
- Traceability
- The ability to tie results and documentation to a specific lot.
- Lot
