Testing & Verification
How Osmora Reviews and Releases a Batch
Overview
Batch review is the step where the documented information about a specific production lot is examined against predefined requirements before a release decision is made. This lesson explains the concept; the requirements, records, and decisions themselves live in Osmora’s Quality system, not the Academy.
What batch review means
Batch review is the process of examining the documentation associated with a specific production lot — the records of what was tested and what those records show — as part of deciding whether that lot is released. It is a documentation-and-decision process rather than a single analytical test, and it happens after the individual tests are complete.
Reviewing results against predefined requirements
In a quality system, review is not an open-ended judgement made after the fact. Documented results are compared against requirements that were defined in advance — the acceptance requirements and release criteria set for that kind of material. Conceptually, each documented result is checked against its corresponding predefined requirement, and the release decision follows from whether the documented evidence meets those requirements. The specific requirements, criteria, and values are defined and held by Osmora’s Quality system; this lesson does not state them.
How the separate tests fit together
Each test in this path answers a narrow question — identity, purity, quantity, and the various contamination categories. Batch review is where those separate, documented pieces of evidence are considered together against the predefined requirements. No single test stands in for the whole review, and no single result is the release decision by itself.
Where the source of truth lives
The Academy explains what review and release mean as concepts. The authoritative requirements, records, status, and release decisions for any specific lot live in Osmora’s Quality/QMS system and, where published, its verification records — not in these lessons. The Academy never reports a lot’s results, its PASS/FAIL states, or its release decision.

- Any result value, PASS/FAIL state, or batch-specific data
- Any suitability, safety, or appropriateness for any use
Key terminology
- Batch / lot
- A specific production run of a material.
- Acceptance / release requirements
- Requirements defined in advance that documented results are reviewed against.
- Batch review
- Examining a lot’s documentation against predefined requirements as part of a release decision.
- Release decision
- The documented decision about whether a lot is released.
