Certificate of Analysis (COA)
A document reporting the results of analytical tests performed on a specific batch of material, typically including identity, purity, and related method data, tied to a batch or lot number.
In plain language
The results sheet for a specific batch — what was tested, by what method, and what was found.
Why it matters in research
A COA reports the specific tests it lists for the batch it names; absence of a test means that property was not evaluated.
