Osmora Scientific Glossary
Chromatogram
A two-dimensional plot produced by a chromatographic method, showing detector response (vertical axis) against time (horizontal axis); separated components appear as peaks.
In plain language
The graph HPLC produces — a line with peaks, where each peak is a component of the sample.
Why it matters in research
Reading a chromatogram — peak positions and areas — is how purity and identity information is extracted.
Where you'll encounter it
COAs that include a chromatogram image, and purity discussions.
